By establishing and supporting medicinal plant nurseries and gardens, including educational programs, we contribute to reduced loss of natural resources and biodiversity and economically empower the rural population.
We organize workshops and promote knowledge transfer and exchange in the following areas:
- Sensitization for the incomparable value of intact ecosystems.
- Sensitization for the value of traditional medicine as a living cultural heritage.
- Recognize important medicinal plants for domestic use and learn how to use them safely.
- Sustainable cultivation and harvesting of medicinal plants.
- Production of seeds and seedlings.
These activities aim at:
- Improved and sustainable access to medicinal plants.
- Support primary health care in households.
- Reduce pressure on the wild environment.
- Increase business opportunities and sources of income from the sale of medicinal plant seedlings and plant raw materials to local users, traders, and manufacturers by local communities.
